PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCESSING YOUR RENEWAL!

  1. Do not renew if your address is different than what is listed on your current registration. Even if you have changed your address with the Post Office, your registration does NOT get forwarded.
  2. Do not renew if your registration is already expired or you need your registration immediately. Your vehicle is NOT considered registered until you have received your registration, signed it and the decals are on your plates.
  3. If the registration is lost in the mail, the City of Rochester cannot replace the registration for free. We have to charge $22 to replace. You may go to a DMV location to have the registration replaced at no cost after 14 days.
  4. All echeck payments that are returned for any reason will be charged a $25 returned check fee so please enter your account information carefully.

Registrations are sent USPS by standard mail without the ability to track delivery information. Please allow time for processing and shipment of documents. During certain times of year there is a significant increase in shipping volume with the USPS and can cause unexpected delays. Mail via USPS can take anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING:

  • Registrations are not valid until you receive and sign them. Please allow time for processing and mailing.

  • If your address has changed since your last registration, your documents may be sent to the wrong address or returned to the municipal office. ?
